Year 6 Residential

We are pleased to be able to offer our Year Six children the opportunity to take part in a school residential visit to Windmill Hill in East Sussex from Monday 20th March to Friday 24th March 2023.

Alex Donald, Sarah Cobb and Karen Flaxton will lead the trip, which is being organised through PGL Travel Ltd.  This is exclusively for the Year 6 children.

What is it all about?

It is about having fun while taking part in all sorts of adventurous activities designed to help your child learn and develop new skills and really shine as an individual and as part of a team.

For many children this may be their first experience of staying away from home without you. PGL staff and Hythe Bay staff will be on hand throughout to encourage, reassure and help, so that your child returns home even more confident and independent with a real sense of achievement.

We have chosen to book with PGL because not only do they offer excellent value but they also have a reassuring 65 years of experience organising trips for schools. Their extremely high standards ensure that your child will be in safe hands at all times.

Visit PGL‘s website  to find out more about the company and the location we will be visiting.

What does it cost?

The cost per person is £265, which can be paid in instalments prior to the trip.

The cost includes:

  • Return coach travel from school

  • A full daily programme of adventure activities

  • Fun evening entertainment

  • All meals and accommodation.

There are no extras, however if you wish, you can provide a small amount of pocket money for your child to spend in the gift shop.

What do I need to do next?

If you would like your child to go on the residential, please complete and return the attached form together with a deposit of £60 towards the full amount.  We would appreciate the deposit payment as soon as possible but no later than 21st October 2022.  Further payments may be made over the year ensuring the full cost is paid before the departure of the trip.  For example a payment of £8.20 per week for the remaining 25 weeks.  Please note that once deposits have been paid to PGL they are not refundable, terms, and conditions will apply.  Should there be financial hardship please contact Mrs Chivers confidentially as soon as possible.

If you have any particular questions or concerns regarding your child’s participation in the trip, please do not hesitate to contact any of the Year 5/6 teachers.
