Who are we and who are you?
We are the PTFA - Parents, Teachers & Friends Association
We are all either parents, teachers or friends of the school who come together to organise fund raising events.
You are the fantastic parents & friends who can come and join in and support us in all the events or just some of the events, depending on what takes your fancy!
What are the aims and objectives of the PTFA?
To raise money so that the school has access to additional resources. It also aims to establish stronger links between the school and home.
Can I join the PTFA?
Anyone is welcome to join – involvement may be coming to the meetings or lending a helping hand occasionally.
How does the PTFA raise money and how is it spent?
By holding popular events such as the Christmas Raffle, Quiz Night and School Discos. We ask the school what particular items it is hoping to buy and then we start saving until we have enough money in our account to go shopping for them! At the moment we are replenishing our funds after paying for the whole school to go to see 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. Other recent purchases include wet play games and resources and playground equipment!
How can I find out more?
Every March the PTFA Annual General Meeting takes place and anyone can attend to find out more. In the meantime please feel able to contact any of the school staff who will put you in contact with a member of the PTFA. Committee meetings are held throughout the year, usually every 4 - 8 weeks during school hours and occasional evenings.
