Blank Levels of Questioning

The Blank Levels of Questioning, sometimes known as the Language of Learning model, was developed by Blank, Rose and Berlin in 1978. Blank's Levels of Questioning is a framework developed to help children develop key oral language comprehension skills. The framework is built around four stages of questioning, which become progressively more complex, moving from relatively simple, concrete questions to more complicated, abstract queries. We use the model across our lessons and interventions to support children’s language development.
